Arabic is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and the liturgical language of Islam. It is known for its right-to-left script, root-based word formation, and rich poetic tradition spanning over 1,500 years.

Arabic is a Central Semitic language that originated on the Arabian Peninsula. It spread widely through Islamic conquest and trade from the 7th century onward. Classical Arabic, the language of the Quran, remains the formal written standard, while spoken Arabic varies significantly between regions.
