Italianについて

Italian is celebrated as the language of art, music, architecture, and cuisine. It is the official language of Italy, one of the founding members of the European Union, and is spoken by large diaspora communities worldwide.

起源と歴史

Italian descends from Vulgar Latin and is closest to Latin among the major Romance languages. The Tuscan dialect, shaped by Dante, Petrarch, and Boccaccio in the 13th and 14th centuries, became the basis for standard Italian. Italy was only unified as a nation in 1861, and the language became widely spoken across the country in the 20th century.
