Turkish is an agglutinative language, meaning words are formed by adding suffixes to a root. It follows strict vowel harmony rules and has a remarkably regular grammar with almost no exceptions. Turkey sits at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

起源と歴史

Turkish is a Turkic language with roots in Central Asia. The Ottoman Empire used a form of Turkish written in Arabic script for centuries. In 1928, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk introduced the Latin alphabet as part of sweeping modernisation reforms, transforming the written language overnight.
